It’s been a little over two weeks since I released the Free Printable Stay at Home Journal for Kids. It seems to have gone down a treat with children and adults a like. I have received some really nice feedback. Some have reached out to personally thank me for helping them help their children during such a difficult time. The idea behind the journal wasn’t only to use it as a typical journal but also to serve as a memory keeping journal. Now that it is Easter and we are still seeing these times through I thought it would be nice to include some Free Printable Easter pages so that your children can record how they spent their Easter in 2020 amidst a global pandemic.
An Easter to remember …..
Easter 2020 will definitely be one to remember. It is definitely one that I will not forget. Here in Gibraltar Easter is traditionally spent with family. We eat lots of traditional Gibraltarian food and my mother in law always makes some yummy treats for dessert. This year will be unlike any other. Over 70’s are prohibited to leave their homes by law and we are not allowed to visit family due to social distancing rules.
It is also my mother in laws and father in laws birthday this weekend and so birthday celebrations will be different too. Despite feeling unsettled and upset by not being able to spend time with family, we know our efforts will help to ensure that we get to spend many more Easters together in the future.
Day 28…..
We are currently on day 28 of being home. It is different and it is hard, especially for the children. My boys love the outdoors and since we don’t have a garden to play in, it has been very difficult for them. As the days have trickled by we have started to adjust. We have eased up a little on the home schooling and we are trying to make the most of the downtime that has been given to us. My husband however is a frontline worker and so he still has to go to work which leaves most of everything else down to me. Despite feeling a little worn out there are a lot of positives about being at home that perhaps I’d never appreciated before.
We have enjoyed slow starts to our mornings and for the first time in almost 8 years we have been able to have a lay in. There have been more than a few days where we have stayed in our PJ’s all day without feeling like we should have made the effort to go outside. We are eating lots of home cooked food and saving some money in doing so. I have even managed to get my sewing machine out after 7 long years of it being in a box. Due to the lack of traffic outside of our house we can hear the birds chirping all day long and at 8pm everyday we join in with thousands of other Gibraltarians and sing our national anthem in recognition of our frontline workers.
I hope that you have also managed to find some positives in the situation we find ourselves in. I’d love to hear all about them so feel free to comment below and share with me.

My sewing creations – two drawstring backs and a small boxed makeup bag.

Printing and storing the journal
Simply print the journal, hole punch it and store it in a regular binder or folder. If you need additional pages you can simply print duplicates of the pages you need. Each page design is centralised with an ample left and right hand margins to allow for hole punching/binding.
If you have already downloaded the Stay at Home Journal you can do so by clicking here. Make this journal something your kids will come to treasure. Have them add other things to the journal such as pictures they have drawn or things they have collected. Protective sleeves are a perfect solution to help store items that can’t be easily hole punched.
We CAN do this…..
When times are difficult and we feel like we are losing hope, lets remember why we are doing this – to save our health care systems and to save the lives of those we love. It IS hard. It DOES feel unnatural. Times ARE testing BUT we CAN do this. Day by day we are making it one step closer to resuming normality.
I am hoping to add more to this journal as time allows. Just think of what a little treasure this will become in 50 years time. Remember to share your journals on social media by tagging me @LittleChiquiPaperie on Instagram and Little Chiqui Paperie – Planner Inserts on Facebook.
Until then my lovelies, Stay Safe and keep well.
With much love, Tina.
