Yes, it is that time again. It’s time for March’s second SHEBOSS VIP release. This release is a free Self Care Planner Insert. Self care is either one of those things that you are really good at or not so great at. As a wife, mum to two adventurous boys and business owner I am generally not very good at self care. There always seems to be something more important than myself that needs my attention.
IT’S NOT POSSIBLE TO POUR FROM AN EMPTY CUP…..
This year I have been trying harder to take care of myself more. I have realised that it’s not possible to pour from an empty cup. Self care can mean lots of different things for different people. It may mean taking 30 minutes of your day to find a quiet corner and read. Perhaps it means a little bit of retail therapy or getting your nails done. The thing that really makes me feel good is working out. I also like to read and write.
Since I don’t have a lot of time to myself, finding free time is rare. I definitely don’t have enough free time to do all the things that make me feel good but I am making a conscious effort to at least do one of the things off my self care list. Right now that is in the form of exercise because it gives me the most benefit in terms of how it makes me feel.
WHY SELF CARE IS SO IMPORTANT…..
Self care plays such an important role in our day to day lives. We focus so much on the roles that we have responsibilities for that we often forget about ourselves. I don’t think I am too far out for saying this is particularly true for mothers and other caregivers.
I remember when my first little boy was born. When we first bought him home it was a crazy whirlwind. The days and nights blended into one and I couldn’t barely remember what day it was. I could easily go all day without doing basic tasks like showering, getting dressed and eating. If you’re a mum yourself you’ll know that at some point in the early days of motherhood you’ll have looked at your watch and suddenly it’s 6pm. When you are busy tending to a newborn, infant or toddler your days and nights are spent tending to their every need.
Self care is important not only for your physical health but your emotional wellbeing too. It offers a break from the daily stresses of life and gives you the opportunity to refuel the tank. It makes facing daily tasks and general life stresses easier and helps you to be the best version of yourself that you can be.

The free Self Care Planner Insert is available in two sizes – A5 and 7″ x 9.25″ (classic HP size). The insert is a double page layout.
The left hand page offers you space to make a list of self care ideas, brainstorm the things that make you happy, the 3 things you need to let go of in your life and how you can practice more self love. The right hand page offers you space to brainstorm the self care ideas specifically associated with your mind, body, soul and spirit.

Downloading the free free Self Care Planner Insert is easy. You simply need to subscribe to Little Chiqui Paperie. Once you have subscribed you will receive an email containing a password. You’ll need to use this password to sign into the Sheboss VIP area of the website. The Sheboss VIP library is a growing resource of free printable products just like this one.
